My mum is on Strike!
‘My Mum Is on Strike’ are free stay and play events across the country (a place to come with the kids where entertainment and toys are provided) organised so that mums, nannies, grandparents and carers who identify as women and femmes can go on strike from their gendered labour on 8 March 2019. Striking from our care work may seem undesirable and even impossible, but this work – ‘women’s work’ – actually is the engine of the entire unjust system in which we live, and it is we who hold the power to birth a new world from the ashes of the old.
General Strike
International Women’s Day is set to be marked by strikes from “paid work in offices and factories, or unpaid domestic work in homes, communities and bedrooms".
